“A New Day” was inspired by a  Stephen Mansfield message entitled “Seven Prayers of  A Warrior”. The first first verse paraphrases David’s Psalm 144

Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. Psalm 144, verse 1.

A New Day

Verse 1:

Praise to the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for battle

Prepare my heart and mind for war

You are my strength, my shield, my fortress and protection

Arise Oh God and show yourself great

 CHORUS:

It’s a new day

For the power of God to be displayed

It’s a new day

For the love of Christ to be proclaimed

It’s a new day

For the people of God to rise  and pray

It’s a new day

And with the love of Jesus to light the way

It’s a new day, It’s a new day

Verse 2:

Give me a willing spirit, to only do your pleasure

Release your energy in me

Raise up a holy army with singleness of vision

Make us brave of heart, we’ll overcome by faith

Tag:

This is the day for a new dedication,

This is the day for a bold declaration

This is the day of the Lord’s salvation

This is the day of liberation

For every tribe and for every nation,

there’s gonna be a royal invitation

To worship the King in holy adoration

singing the song of jubilation

This is the call for this generation

This is the call for reconciliation

To honor the Lord of all creation

This is the day of liberation

It’s a new day!
