Love God. Treat People Right

The academics, “religious scholars”, i.e. Sadducees and Pharisees, were grilling Jesus, trying to trip him up with a trick question.

“Which is most important of all the commandments?” 

His answer was disarmingly simple and common sense for a good Jewish boy. 

Remember the daily affirmation of Jewish culture, The Shema. 

Keep the main thing the main thing.

Love God, treat people right.

That’s the most important commandment.

Make it your highest value and number one priority.

The Greatest Commandment

^28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
