Happy Monday after Easter! I pray you enjoyed a wonderful resurrection Sunday. May you continue to celebrate the hope and joy of the gospel message.

Christ is Risen! He is risen indeed!

What difference does the resurrection of Jesus make today in our ordinary, everyday lives?

This was what I set out to explore in Day One of Resurrection Power entitled “Now What?”

Here we see the disciples naturally disoriented at their great loss. We re-visit our own emotional state in times of loss.

When Christ appears, he gives the gifts of peace and purpose.

But then a miracle happened. Jesus showed up, alive and empowered.

“Peace I give you”

What is peace? Peace is harmony, tranquility, security, and freedom from fear. It means the end of strife and contention.

Peace is good, and it is for peace that the human spirit is designed. The peace of God is what our souls long for.

This was the first gift Jesus gave his grieving disciples. And this is the gift He gives you and me in our moments of despair. Peace is healing for the wounded soul.

He gives us beauty for ashes, and joy for mourning. (Isaiah 61:3)[/callout]

I am reading a devotional called Resurrection Power by Rob Still with everyone in my church. This is a 50 day devotional. The thing that touched my heart today is Jesus said “Peace I give to you.” Rob wrote “Peace is healing for the wounded soul” My prayer today is that everyone accepts that gift, including me, for we all have wounded souls.

This morning, I started reading a devotional book written by my freind Rob Still, called ‘Resurrection Power’. Today’s devotional is on John 20: 21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

This scripture speaks to me in a few ways. First, Jesus wants us to spread His word to others as His disciples. Secondly, Jesus wants a relationship with His disciples. You don’t get any more personal than breathing life into another.

Thanks to all who are reading and sharing during these 50 days! It is wonderful to study and reflect in community.
