This past week we shared with the HFUMC  family I’ll be leaving staff. It’s been a wonderful experience. My last Sunday will be February 12, 2017. Here’s the letter we shared.

Hebrews 11:1-2 says “ Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.”

Later in verse 8 we read  “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”

In that same spirit of faith I want to share with you that I am leaving staff at HFUMC as Music & Worship Director. It has been an incredible experience and I have loved serving here.

I will be further pursuing my writing, teaching and missions work.

Ivalene and I so love and appreciate you all! This is a good church with great people! We especially value the friendships and relationships we’ve developed.

So, we want to express our thanks and gratitude to you for the privilege of serving you the last 5+ years. We have been blessed to enjoy your love, fellowship, and encouragement.

In the near future, we will serve the Lord on a short term mission trip in May teaching at the seminary in Ukraine for about two weeks. After that, we plan to minister in eastern Europe most of that month, probably in Hungary, Serbia and Romania where I have ministered extensively. Other invitations such as Israel are being considered. We would greatly appreciate your prayers and support.

Finally, though some of us may experience mixed emotions about this transition, I would encourage all of us to give God a chance to “do far more than we could hope or imagine”. (Ephesians 3:20). I believe He will “work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose!” (Romans 8:29). He is true to His promises.

We love you! The Lord be with you,

Rob & Ivalene Still
