The Earth Will Be Filled With The Knowledge of God

Centuries before the birth of Christ, the prophets gave hundreds of clues and foreshadowings to this next phase of God’s rescue plan for His creation.

Through His Incarnation, the supernatural presence of God as a man is manifest in the natural world. Through Christ as a human, the stage is “now” set for the fulfillment of this prophecy, that the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of God.

The tension, of course, is that there is also a “not yet” component to the fulfillment of this promise.

During Advent we remember God’s prophetic promises fulfilled, and prophetic promises yet to come.
