A day of transitions and firsts this past Sunday for the worship services at Hendersonville First United Methodist  church.
Your humble, lovable worship dude made his debut directing the adult choir for the 8:15 Traditional Service.
The hymns included: To God Be The Glory, God Grace and God of Glory, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing (anthem), and Rescue the Perishing. We had a blast and even a few compliments.
At the contemporary service, Travis Birch led the team and moi backed him up on guitar and vox.
It’s a LOT easier and relaxing to play as a team member than leading. Travis did a great job and I enjoyed the change of pace and perspective.

This was our first time to introduce “Overcomeâ€, a great song from New Life’s Jon Egan and made popular by Jeremy Camp. I’m thinking this will be an anchor song for Easter and wanted to get it in the repertoire so the congregation could get familiar with it.
We also repeated One Thing Remains for the second week. The kids love this song, I think.
We once again were on the down-home country side of things with Softly and Tenderly, but man, EVERYBODY sang out on that one. I was pleasantly surprised.
