In this short video I tell the story of how I got into running in Nashville’s Country Music Marathon. This year will be my third.

When I was Pastor of Worship and Arts at Belmont Church on Music Row, the marathon route would go right in front of our church. For many years we have put a worship team out there to cheer on the runners.

To see the ocean of humanity – 20, 25, 30,000+ thousand runners go by was amazing. I decided it would be fun to be a runner instead of musician and ran my first half-marathon in 2009. That year I even stopped for a few minutes and sang A New Anointing (This Is The Day) with the worship team. That was fun but it dinged my time.

“Run” is very generous terminology, I walk when I need to.

Finishing the full marathon is on my bucket list and one of my 2012 goals.

In the video I mention The Ultimate Guide to the best New Year Motivational Blog Posts to launch the year. They’re great articles to check out anytime.

Question: How’s it going with your 2012 goals?
